Can computers
feel Fear ?
In the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey," the computer, HAL, expresses its fear of being destroyed. Click here to hear sound file.
However, in reality, a computer has no emotions of any kind. The only will-to-live that a computer could possess would be an instruction to avoid unauthorized termination. There is no "ghost in the machine." The computer is merely a mechanism to perform programmed instructions.
